The station started broadcasting on 96.3 FM on 9 January at 12:00 noon and the full-time schedule from 7am on Monday 10 January 2011.The station started broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the website on 1 Feb 2008 and completed two short-term Restricted Service Licence (RSL) broadcasts in 2008 and provided facilities for two RSL broadcasts by other groups.Seahaven FM is the third of four community radio stations that were awarded licences in East Sussex in the second round of Ofcom's distribution of community licences, the others being 107 Meridian FM (launched March 2010), Uckfield FM (Launched July 2010) and Rye FM which hoped to launch in late 2011 but decided not to go ahead. Radio Reverb in Brighton is also a community radio station and was one of the first stations of its kind in the UK.Norman Baker, a local politician, is one of the presenters.".
