He is the father of journalist Antoni Zambrowski.Zambrowski was born into a Jewish family and was a member of the pre-War Communist Party of Poland (1928–1938). He was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Association of Polish Youth (1930–1938), one of the chief organizers of the Union of Polish Patriots (1943) and the Polish Communists Central Bureau (1944), head of the Political and Educational Management of the Polish Army in the Soviet Union and then in the Polish First Army (since 1944). In 1944 he became a member of the Polish Workers' Party, Polish United Workers' Party (1948–1968), and of its Central Committee (1944–1964), Politburo of the Polish United Workers' Party (1945–1963), deputy of a State National Council (1944–1947), deputy of a Sejm (1947–1965), Deputy-marshal of the Sejm (1947–1952), secretary of the Central Committee (1948–1954 and 1956–1963), leader of the liberal movement in the Polish United Workers' Party (Puławians; 1956), vice-president of the Supreme Chamber of Control (1963–1968).In 1968 he was accused of inspiring the 1968 Polish political crisis and of Zionism, then expelled from the Polish United Workers' Party and removed from the position as a vice-president of the Supreme Chamber of Control.".
