He served as delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1936 and 1940. He was served as a Republican in the Seventy-fifth Congress from January 3, 1937, until June 9, 1938, when he was succeeded by Alphonse Roy, who contested his election.Jenks was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and Seventy-seventh Congresses (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1943). He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1942.He resumed the banking business in Manchester until his death there on December 14, 1947. He was interred in Pine Grove Cemetery.".
