It takes place annually, and includes an exhibition of all the shortlisted drawings at Jerwood Space which then forms a touring exhibition.In 2004 approximately 2,000 entries were received. In 2011 the competition accepted approximately 3,500 entries. A first prize of £6,000 and a second prize of £3,000 were awarded. In addition there were two student awards, each with a £1,000 prize.".
