A totally fake case was registered against him leading a kissan movement in Faridkot.Defeated Sukhbir singh Badal deputy CM Punjab in 1999 Lok Sabha elections from Faridkot. Parkash singh Badal was CM at that time and Sukhbir a union Minister.He holds an M.A. and LL.B. from Punjabi University in Patiala.He remained Member of the Congress Working Committee from 2005 to 2012. First as a special invitee and then a permanent invitee to the working committee.Mr.brar quit the congress party on 5 January 2015 due to his differences with the congress party leadership at the central and Punjab level after serving the congress party for a long period of over 35 years.Issues taken up in Parliament".
