QF has successfully used a holistic integrated and rights based approach to empowering OVC and their care givers knowledge and skills for comprehensive and quality OVC care within the family setting. HIV/AIDS prevention for OVC has been a priority QF for since most orphans are vulnerable and are at risk of contracting the disease. HIV Counseling and testing (HCT) and prevention services through sensitization have been provided as an entry point to care and support. The Organization conducts community mobilization and advocacy campaigns for OVC activities in the area. This has been done using Councilors, health workers through their structures like clinics that incorporated messages for OVC care and support in their lives. Teachers are mobilized to support OVC while at school and care takers are sensitized on OVC care and support and children’s rights.".
