The Hidden Light of Objects is her first collection of short stories.Mai Al-Nakib writes and focuses mainly on the political, cultural and ethnic aspects of Middle Eastern life. Aside from writing novels, she has contributed to many articles on these very topics. She also contributes quite extensively to social media and lecture series at various universities to spread word about issues described in her books and articles. Although she is of Middle Eastern decent, she writes strictly in English for her works. Mai Al-Nakib lives mainly in Kuwait while she is teaching but spends summers in Greece where she works on her novels.".
