She began singing as a child, appearing as the soloist in the performance of a Stabat Mater at the age of ten. She graduated from the Paris Conservatory in 1904 and was immediately engaged by the Paris Opera. She made her debut in November of that year as Léonore in Donizetti's La favorite.Royer can be heard singing "O toi qui m'abandonne" from Meyerbeer's Le prophète on Volume 2 of The Record of Singing.".
