- Q16254573 abstract "V S R Swamy is an Indian director and cinematographer in Tollywood, the Telugu language film industry in India. Born in Valliwartipadu in Gudivada Mandal in Krishna district, he had settled in Chennai due to his busy work schedule there. He died at Machilipatnam where he had gone to attend a marriage. He suffered a massive cardiac arrest and succumbed to it before being taken to hospital. He was 70 and was survived by son Aravind. He was successful in many of his experiments in photography, when technology is not as extensively developed as of contemporary times. During those days, people would stop shooting after 6:00 pm in the evening cause of the yellow light that degrades quality. However, Mr. Swamy shot a sequence in 'Bhakta Kannappa' in the yellow light and won wide applause for the work from every one. While shooting for a dual role, he used to develop the film on the sets and show to the crew as to how it has come out. His first film as director of photography was Asadhyudu. Since then, he handled the camera for over 250 Telugu blockbusters. He also dabbled in direction and wielded the megaphone for Apadhbandhuvulu and Maha Shaktimaan (Hindi). Though he started a film with Srikanth as hero, the project was shelved halfway. His last film as cinematographer was Adavi Ramudu featuring Prabhas.".
