It has a rotation period of 9.3 hours and an albedo in the range of 0.03 to 0.06, according to the surveys carried out by IRAS, Akari, WISE and NEOWISE.The minor planet was named for the Finnish town Joensuu, where the discoverer received his early schooling. It is located in North Karelia, near the Russian border.".
