- Q1398350 abstract "The European Union National Institutes for Culture, (EUNIC), is a network of the European national institutes for culture, engaged beyond their national borders and operating with a degree of autonomy from their governments. The EUNIC membership currently includes 33 organisations from 27 member states of the European Union. The purpose of EUNIC is to create effective partnerships and networks between the participating organisations, to improve and promote cultural diversity and understanding between European societies, and to strengthen international dialogue and co-operation with countries outside Europe.EUNIC operates at two complementary levels. The first level consists of the Heads or Directors General of the national institutions. The second level comprises clusters of national institutions for culture, based in cities across the world, cooperating in common projects. As of April 7, 2015, there are more than 90 clusters or national networks worldwide.EUNIC is managed by an annual meeting of the Heads of its member organisations. They elect from among themselves a President, a first Vice President and a second Vice President. Each holds the position for one year. Then, the first Vice President (VP) becomes President, the second VP becomes the first VP and a new second VP is elected. The Presidents are supported by a team of three full-time staff on secondment from their organisations who manage the network and are the first points of contact.Board members for 2014-2015:President: Annika Rembe - Swedish InstituteFirst Vice President: Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga y Salamanca - Instituto CervantesSecond Vice President: Michael Metz Morch - Danish Cultural InstituteCurrent members of EUNIC (April 2015):23x15px Austria - Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs23x15px Belgium - Wallonie-Bruxelles International, Flemish Department of Foreign Affairs23x15px Bulgaria - Ministry of Culture (Bulgaria)23x15px Croatia - Croatia House Foundation23x15px Cyprus - Ministry of Education and Culture (Cyprus)23x15px Czech Republic - Czech Centres23x15px Denmark - Danish Cultural Institute23x15px Estonia - Estonian Institute23x15px Finland - Finnish cultural and academic institutes23x15px France - Fondation Alliance française, Institut Français, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs23x15px Germany - Goethe-Institut, Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations - IFA23x15px Greece - Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hellenic Foundation for Culture23x15px Hungary - Balassi Institute23x15px Ireland - Culture Ireland23x15px Italy - Società Dante Alighieri, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Italy)23x15px Latvia - Latvian Institute23x15px Lithuania - The International Cultural Programme Centre Lithuania23x15px Luxembourg - Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Luxembourg)23x15px Netherlands - DutchCulture, centre for international cooperation23x15px Poland - Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs23x15px Portugal - Instituto Camões23x15px Romania - Romanian Cultural Institute23x15px Slovakia - Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Slovakia)23x15px Slovenia - Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Slovenia)23x15px Spain - Instituto Cervantes23x15px Sweden - Swedish Institute23x15px United Kingdom - British Council↑ ↑".
