He was also a renowned journalist. His books have been translated into many languages (English, French, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish, amongst others). He was also part of the jury in many literary contests. His main theme was Buenos Aires, and he was named "Ciudadano Ilustre de la Ciudad" (Distinguished Citizen of Buenos Aires). He was married to Beatriz Trento and divorced and had three children: Florencio, Nicolás and Agustín. None of them is a writer. He died in Buenos Aires in 2002.".
