Her research is mainly directed at Norwegian and European security and defence policy and trans-Atlantic relations, within which she has contributed a great many articles.Since 2005, Graeger has co-edited the peer-reviewed journal International Peacekeeping.Nina Graeger has for many years been active in the Norwegian Labour Party. In 1996 she became personal advisor to then Minister of Industry and Energy Jens Stoltenberg, who later went on to become the Prime Minister of Norway. With a brief lapse, Graeger has been a member of the Defence Policy Advisory Committee to the Norwegian Labour Party defence faction in Parliament (Forsvarspolitisk Kontaktutvalg) since 1998. She has also been elected as a member of the local council of Grünerløkka in Oslo.".
