There created the slogan "Look at the Hummingbird there, folks!".He released his first album in 1980, which was followed by others, with hits such as the samba-theme "The Five Balls History of the River" (Silas de Oliveira / Fluffy / Cod), "Aquarela Brasileira (Silas de Oliveira), "Dream of The Lion King" (of his own) or samba-song, like "Nerves of Steel" (Babel Fish). Other successes are "Angela" (Serginho Meriti / Alexander), "Divine" (Alexander), "Magali", "Esmeralda" and "The Champ", his most successful composition, sung at football matches ("Sunday I go to Maracanã / I cheer for the team I'm a fan").Sharp won the award for 1991 in the category "best singer of samba." It is considered one of the most charismatic performers of the carnival.In 2005 released his first DVD, in the City of Samba, with the presence of Sandra de Sá.He married Elaine Ramos on February 23, 2009 in Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí few minutes before singing in carnaval. The wedding was broadcast on network coverage of the globe in the carnival.In May 2011 he announced that he would run for mayor in Nova Iguaçu".
