He served as member of the first board of directors of the Oswego Canal Company.Bunner was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twentieth Congress (March 4, 1827 – March 3, 1829).He died in Oswego, New York, July 16, 1837. He was interred in Riverside Cemetery.".
