He worked as an advisor to the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture. In addition he was a co-founder and editor of the influential film periodical kolik.film and a critic for the Viennese paper Falter.He has been responsible for the production of several DVDs including the award-winning Entuziasm by Dziga Vertov (Edition Filmmuseum), and has collaborated with the celebrated film composer Michael Nyman.As a curator he has been responsible for a number of large scale projects and exhibitions. In 2010 he curated the much-lauded Wien im Film at the Wien Museum in Vienna, a celebration of a century of images capturing the essence of the city. He also was instrumental in bringing the major City Project Film.Stadt.Wien to fruition.He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Centre for Media History at Macquarie University (Sydney) and the Wantok Music Foundation (Melbourne).He frequently receives invitations to speak and present at film festivals, conferences and symposiums. He was a jury member at this year's Adelaide Film Festival.".
