- Ibarat_Shah abstract "Naib Subidar Ibarat Shah was an inhabitant of Hussainabad, a village of Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. Born in 1919, he joined Northern Scout-then a section of British Military-in 1938. He has been awarded with the fourth Military decoration of Pakistan Tamgha-i-Jurat later by president of Pakistan General Ayub Khan while admiring his valour and extraordinary gallantry in the Gilgit Independence War against Dogra Raj of Kashmir in 1948.Ibarat Shah, during the war time, was serving as Paltoon Commander in Kashmir's Kel-to-Ladakh Division. Under his command, a small-scaled group of N.A scouts Jawans evicted the Dogra forces from the said division.During the fight, in the battle field, Ibarat Shah had three bullets in his thigh by counter firings. He refused to stay long in the bed and returned to the war field within a week of the severe injury and led his group, while setting extraordinary example of gallantry in the face of enemy.Ibarat Shah died on 28 February 2003. He was buried in his native village.He is survived by his two sonsAbdullah Shah, a senior journalist of PakistanBashir Ahmed Shah, an adventure and rescue specialist".
