- Brent_Titcomb abstract "Brent Arthur Titcomb (born August 10, 1940 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian actor and musician. He was an original member of the folk rock group 3`s A Crowd starting in 1965 in Vancouver and they eventually moved to Toronto. They played various coffeehouses and festivals with the release of an album titled Christopher`s Movie Mattine, with the help of Cass Elliott. In concert he was the comic of the group where he used an odd-sounding vacuum cleaner as part of the routine. In 1968 Titcomb went solo and toured across Canada and parts of Europe. His songs were recorded by Anne Murray, Andy Williams, Glen Campbell and The Osmond Brothers. He was a member of Murray`s touring band. He performed with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.Starting in 1976, Titcomb became a mainstay performer at Festival of Friends in Hamilton, Ontario. He would go on to headline the event a record five times as he appeared there twenty five times over its years. He also appeared at the New Orleans World`s Fair and Mexico in 1984. For one season he hosted a program featuring fellow folk singers on CBC television called The Brent Titcomb Show. In 1980 he released the album Time Traveler which gained attention as far away as Australia. He wrote several radio jingles and did voice over work in animated films including The Care Bears Movie.Titcomb also became involved in environmental and human rights causes. He sang before the Dalai Lama during one of the religious leader`s rare Toronto visits. He also played at the Jacques Cousteau Festival in Hamilton. In 1993 he released a greatest hits CD titled Healing Of Her Heart. Then in 2001 came another release titled Beyond Appearances. Separate versions of his song Tibetan Bells is on each CD. In both versions he did Tibetan throat singing. In many of his songs he used his own unique musical language. He also performed the songs of Doug Carpenter and Ian Tamblyn. In 2009 he joined the folk rock group Lee Harvey Osmond with Tom Wilson as frontman and is on two of their CD`s He appeared in TV commercials for Casino Rama, Contact C, Tim Horton`s and an award winning ad for Canadian Tire. He even appeared on a Canadian postage stamp honouring Canadian Tire`s 75th anniversary.Titcomb is also a native healer using his voice to resonate calmness. He also practised yoga and a very healthy diet. Titcomb plays guitar, percussion, harmonica and jaw harp. He is married to artist Cheryl Russell and they have lived in Toronto for several years. His son is musician and actor Liam Titcomb. His father reached the age of 100 in 2012. He was honoured at Winterfolk in Toronto in 2013. From 2014 he has lived in Vancouver to help care for his father untill he passed away in February 2016.".
