- Batt_OShea abstract "Batt O'Shea was a Kerry Senior gaelic football player during the 1970s. Originating from The Spa (Tralee), he played for his local junior club, Churchill, from the late 1960s into the 1980s. A stockily built player but very quick off the mark, he was normally deployed in defence as a corner back or wing-back. After playing in the All-Ireland Under-21 final against Galway in 1972, he began to enter senior Kerry training panels in 1974. He was very unfortunate in having Jim Deenihan (in those days possibly the fittest man in Ireland) as his immediate rival for the corner back position. Despite this he made some appearances in the league, challenge and championship Kerry teams over the next few years.Along with Pat McCarthy and Martin Ferris, O'Shea will be remembered as one of the three \"seniors\" in that great Churchill team of the early 1970s.".
