- Bamse_Mountain abstract "Bamse Mountain (72°15′S 22°18′E) is a mountain, 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) high, standing 11 nautical miles (20 km) west of Mount Nils Larsen in the Sør Rondane Mountains. It was mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1957 from air photos taken by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and named \"Bamsefjell\" (\"bear mountain\").The Mountain is named after H. E. Hansen's first (and only) grandson (see Hansenbreen). Hansen, the Norwegian cartographer who was the first to draw maps over the area, based on air photographs taken by Viggo Widerøe, was asked to name this mountain in consideration of his work. Bamse was the nickname of his grandson, whose real name is Bjarne (born 1953).".
