He was succeeded by his younger brother, the eighth Baronet. When he died in 1793 the baronetcy became dormant. The Balfour Baronetcy, of Albury Lodge in Albury in the County of Hertford, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 3 February 1911 for Robert Balfour, Liberal Member of Parliament for Glasgow Partick from 1906 to 1922. The title became either extinct or abeyant on his death in 1929.The Balfour Baronetcy, of Sheffield in the County of York, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 26 June 1929.
