- Wil_Mara abstract "William P. "Wil" Mara (born November 20 or 30, 1966) is an American author of more than eighty books covering a variety of topics and genres for people of all ages. He has produced works of both fiction and nonfiction, including numerous biographies for young readers, plus several novels for adults. The novel Wave, which was released in 2005, chronicles a coastal island community's reaction to an oncoming tsunami. The book eventually became a critical and commercial success, winning the 2005 New Jersey Notable Book Award and establishing Mara in the field of popular international fiction. In October 2006, St. Martin's Press published The Draft, the first in a series of so-called NFL novels (two, as of September 2015). The second book in this group, The Cut, was published on October 16, 2007. In 2010, he wrote the second disaster thriller, The Gemini Virus, which is scheduled for release by Macmillan Publishing in October of 2012. Based on pre-release orders, it reached the #1 spot on Amazon.com's "Best New Medical Thrillers for 2012". Mara has said that he has two more titles in the disaster series currently in development, as well as a new series of suspense thrillers for the mainstream market.".
