From January to July 2014, Boxer played the role of Gloucester in William Shakespeare's King Lear,. He recently played Captain Rivers in the stage adaptation of Pat Barker's Booker-prize nominated novel Regeneration, set at Craiglockhart War Hospital in Scotland in the closing years of World War I it explores the horrors of war and the effect on the young men that fight in them.".
