- Africa_Unite_Party abstract "The Africa Unite Party (AUP) was formed on 7 March 2014, by Mr. Robin Denton its founder and president. On 24 March 2014 it failed to comply with the Independent Electoral Commission of South Africa by refusing to pay the security deposit of R205 000. As a result of its non compliance; it was taken off the ballot sheet for the 7 May 2014 National Elections. It contested this decision of the IEC by submitting an urgent application to the constitutional court stating that it violated Section 19 of the South African Constitution. The case was dismissed by 11 judges who stated it " was not urgent". In the mean time the AUP had also charged President Zuma with theft, fraud and corruption due to the Nkandla affair. This case is still ongoing. The AUP said it would carry on with the legal challenge through the high court. It received help from a famous legal firm called "Hogan Lovells" who have 40 offices around the world. The AUP as a new voice in the South African political arena stands against racially motivated violence and for youth. It sees itself as the "Third Way". It plans to run in local municipal elections in 2016 and in National Elections in 2019. The party has had some success in bringing the issue of racially motivated violence to the table by its protests outside the Oscar Pistorius trial in Pretoria.Currently the AUP is run by acting chairman SAMUEL SIYONZANA and VP Frans Tekwane. It has also created an arm for the diaspora in the UK where it is setting up an Africa Embassy in Manchester.".
