In 1910, after the establishment of the Republic of Portugal, there was a persecution of Catholics, and so together with the sisters the children were safely taken to their parents. She died at the age of sixty-four. On December 20, 2003, Pope John Paul II proclaimed her venerable. She was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on May 28, 2006.".
