Since he began working at the Rijksmuseum, Dibbits has played an important role in developing the layout of the New Rijksmuseum. He is currently Director of Collections at the Rijksmuseum.Taco Dibbits is also a contributing author to the books Dutch Drawings of the Seventeenth Century in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam : Artists Born Between 1580 and 1600 (1997), Rembrandt - Caravaggio (2006), and Dutch Paintings of the 17th Century in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam: Artists born between 1570 and 1600 (2008). He has also published on the drawings of Italian 16th-century artist Girolamo Muziano.".
