- Q7653190 abstract "Swami Indravesh (Hindi: स्वामी इन्द्रवेश) (1937–2006) was a social worker, Arya Samaj leader and former Member of Parliament. He has done work in the field of education. He was born in Sundana village in 1937 in Haryana in a Hindu Jat family of Dhaka gotra. Swami Indravesh was influenced by the thoughts of Swami Dayananda Saraswati in his childhood. He was a student of Swami Omanand Sarswati in Gurukal Jhajjar. After becoming an acharya, he taught at the Jhajjar Gurukul.He was president of Haryana Arya Pratinidhi Sabha. Swami after playing a role during independence selected Jhajjar as his "Karam Bhumi" in early 1950s. He selected this place because it was one of the most backward places. Then his efforts against illiteracy, superstition and "Bhrahmanwad" started here. He contributed in the social awakening of this area. He had knowledge of 14 languages and had written on many subjects.On 25 March 1970, Swami Indraveshji along with Swami Agniveshji and Swami Adityaveshji became Sanyashis at Dayanandmath Rohtak and gained Deeksha from Swami Omanand Saraswatiji. In 1970, he founded a political body called the Arya Sabha. In 1973, he led an agitation of farmers for remunerative prices of agricultural produce.He coordinated the anti emergency stir, led by the late Jayaprakash Narayan in the late ‘70s in Haryana. He was imprisoned during Emergency. However, he got disenchanted with the Janata Party in 1980 and joined the late Charan Singh’s Lok Dal on whose ticket he successfully contested the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat. In 1998, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and contested the Rohtak seat, but lost. He then became the chief of the Haryana Arya Pratinidhi Sabha. He died on 12 June 2006.".
