He inherited the baronetcy in infancy on the death of his father on 10 January 1660. He matriculated at Magdalen Hall, Oxford on 15 June 1672 aged 15. In 1704, he was High Sheriff of Kent.Culpeper was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Maidstone, Kent on 9 May 1705 and held the seat until 24 Aug 1713. He was re-elected MP for Maidstone on 24 Jan 1715 and held the seat until his death.Culpeper died at the age of 66 and the baronetcy became extinct on his death.".
