In 1935 he was in the Sonora Baseball Team, winning in Mexico City against the San Luis Team by 5-4.In Liga de la Costa the team had 82 triumphs and 54 reverses, playing several seasons with the equipment Hermosillo and Navojoa. He played with the Mexicali team in the Sunset League, obtaining 52 wins and 29 losses; in the 1951 season the team's success was impressive when winning 28 games and losing only 8, with 333 K's and a 2.74 ERA. Echeverría was designated MVP of the league.The Baseball Stadium in Navojoa is named after him.He died at the age of 67, while pitching in a softball game in La Paz, B.C.S.In 1982 he was inducted into the Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame.".
