She is a commissioner on the Equality and Human Rights Commission, was formerly a commissioner on the Equal Opportunities Commission, and acts as a trustee of the People's History Museum and, formerly, of Gingerbread and the Work Foundation.In 2007, Carberry was awarded the CBE.".
