Awards were handed out in 50 categories, including the GMA Canada Lifetime Achievement Award and the newly created Scott's Parable Canadian Gospel Music Song Hall Of Fame. In the spring of 2008, GMA Canada released a 30th Anniversary three-CD compilation featuring a history of Canadian Christian music.The business of the association is conducted by a Board of Directors drawn from its membership. The current board consists of Martin Smith (President), Gregory J. Strom (Vice President), Andrew Horrocks, Kevin Pauls, Gordie Cochran, Maryn Edwards, Jon Buller, Melayne Shenkel and Melissa McEachern. GMA Canada is loosely associated with the Gospel Music Association in the United States.".
