At the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy, Cesar finished in 5th in the Men's 3m Springboard, the best result a Brazilian has ever achieved in the history of this championship.A son of a military Army lieutenant Jorge Rabelo de Castro and an Elementary School teacher Gilda Rabelo, Castro has one brother, Alex Castro (born January 19, 1980), who is a military Army specialized in Mountain. César Castro was married in August 2010 to Sabrina Ost.César Castro previously trained under Brazilians coaches Giovani Casilo, Fracisco Ferrer, Ricardo Moreira and Roberto Gonçalves. In 2013, Cesar moved to Athens, Georgia Georgia where he trains at The University of Georgia with the Head coach Dan Laak.César earned his college degree in Physical Education from Universidade Católica de Brasília in 2005 and received his MBA degree in Marketing and Sports Business from FGV Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2013.
