He struck out 17 and batted 3-for-5 as he led Orleans to a victory over Dennis. Two weeks later, he threw a three-hitter and struck out 15. His season record was 9 wins, 0 losses with a 1.12 ERA and a league-leading .475 batting average. Quirk was inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball Hall of Fame on November 14, 2009.In 1962, he was featured in a Sports Illustrated article while pitching for the Baltimore Orioles.Later in life, Art provided leadership in a Technology Security firm, Viasec. The company, based in Donegal, Ireland, provided email security solutions. As the Voice President of Marketing, Art often used anecdotes from his baseball career to illustrate his story, and to lead and motivate.Art dedicated his life to making a difference for people with special needs.
