He pitched as many as 310 innings in a season.He first managed in 1942, skippering the West Palm Beach Indians until the league disbanded on May 14. In 1946 and 1947, he managed the Iola Cubs, leading them to the league finals both years. The former ended in a tie while the latter ended in a loss for the Cubs. He managed the Iola Indians in 1948. In 1951, he managed for part of the season the Iola Indians, eventually being replaced. He then took the reins of the Carthage Cubs, whom he led to a league championship. He last managed the Blackwell Cubs in 1952. In addition to playing and managing, Reitz scouted for the Chicago Cubs and served as a minor league general and business manager. Following his career, he was afflicted with blindness.He was inducted into the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.".
