In 1920, she joined the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood. She was forced to leave the order due to a necrotic shoulder and stomach cancer. These conditions were suddenly healed in 1921. Aiello began experiencing stigmata every Good Friday from 1923; this ended shortly before her death. She started experiencing visions of the Virgin Mary in 1947; she made predictions of future events following these visions. She also experienced visions of Jesus, San Francesco di Paola and other saints.In 1928, she founded a new order, the Sister Minims of The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ; the order was only officially approved in 1949.Aiello died in Rome at the age of 66. She was beatified in 2011.".
