Previously Bishop of the Forces, he was appointed the eleventh Bishop of Menevia by Pope Benedict XVI on 16 October 2008 and took possession of his See during the celebration of Mass at the Cathedral on 1 December 2008.The estimated Catholic population of the Diocese is 26,266 out of a total population of 788,550 (3.3%).".
