In 1748 his daughter married Louis Xavier Martin de Lino de Chalmette, whose Chalmette Plantation became the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans and the source of the name of the seat of St. Bernard Parish: Chalmette.He is said to have died in New Orleans, on August 9, 1751; but the whereabouts of his remains are unknown.".
