This record stood till the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, where India's Balbir Singh, Sr. scored 5 goals in India's 6-1 victory over the Netherlands.Pridmore was also a cricketer, and played first-class cricket as a right-hand batsman for Warwickshire.Pridmore was killed in action during the First World War, serving as a major with the Royal Field Artillery near the Piave River in Italy. He was buried at the Giavera British Cemetery nearby.".
