- Q3086872 abstract "Fred Knipscheer (born September 3, 1969 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 28 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues. The native of Fort Wayne, Indiana enjoyed three strong years at St. Cloud State. In 1992-93 he scored 34 goals in 36 games and was voted on to the WCHA first all-star team and the NCAA West Second All-American Team. The Boston Bruins signed him as a free agent after his big year and brought him up for eleven games in 1993-94. The youngster scored three goals and showed plenty of spunk but spent most of the year with the Providence Bruins of the AHL. He demonstrated the same zest the following year scoring 63 points in Providence and playing hard during a 16-game recall in Boston.Early in the 1995-96 season Knipscheer was traded to the St. Louis Blues for veteran defenseman Rick Zombo. He only played one NHL game that year and returned to the minors where he remained through the 1999-2000 season.".
