- Q21684964 abstract "Series Eleven of The Apprentice was a British reality television series, which began broadcasting in the UK during 2015 from 14 October to 20 December. Due to the 2015 General Election being held in Spring, which Lord Sugar had ties with, the BBC decided to avoid clashing with it by postponing the series to later in the year. Like the previous series, it began airing with a two-episodes broadcast - the first on its usual timeslot of Wednesday evening, the second the day after on 15 October during a Thursday evening, before continuing to run weekly afterwards in its usual Wednesday timeslot, until the final episode, which was broadcast on a Sunday. The series was won by Joseph Valente.Following Series Ten, the number of candidates for this series was increased to 18, which is two more than had been used in previous series prior to the tenth series. Following Nick Hewer's departure in the last series from his role as Lord Sugar's aide, this series saw his replacement being revealed as Claude Littner, who was primarily involved in the show during the Interviews Stage of the process as an interviewer of candidates; despite his new role, he remained an interviewer for this series. Sugar had promised that the series would include "more serious" candidates, most of which would generally be older. Two specials aired alongside the series towards the final weeks, and were new editions of "The Final Five" on 9 December, and "Why I Fired Them" on 16 December.".
