Her legal specialty was on International human rights law and protection of women and children. She made numerous studies about the law and its implications for women and juveniles. She was a delegate on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights for twelve years. Most of her writings were on legal issues, but she worked for two decades on an encyclopedia of Costa Rican women.".
