He ran the village for almost seventy years, from before Indian independence until his death. The village is surrounded by mountains and 80% of the land is suitable for cultivation.The population of the village is 2502 people (1300 male, 1200 female) as of 2011. The literacy rate was 65 percent, more than India's national average. A large portion of the population is composed of tribes who settled in tandas.The most of village people are farmers, and the main corps are sugar cane, javar, and turmeric. The village is religiously diverse, with Muslims, Hindus, and Christians.".
