Municipal fisheries produces more than enough fish for its needs.The current Municipal Mayor of the town is Engr. Diego Cacho Ty, a businessman, who won the 2013 election with a very small margin against his opponent Villanueva.There is an ongoing project of the town which has been recently started, the construction of Plaridel Community Hospital in Barangay Panalsalan. The Peter Paul Philippines Coconut Corporation has also started to build their coconut processing plant at the town.".
