In his memory, Ferguson wrote Cumha do dh'Uilleam Siseal (Gaelic for Lament to William Chisholm), also known as Mo Rùn Geal Òg (My Fair Young Love).A roadside memorial marks the site of Chisholm and Ferguson's cottage, near Struy in Strathglass.".
