He later practiced both medicine and law in Kewaunee, Wisconsin before moving to Green Bay in 1898. They had one son. Minahan died in 1935.Minahan's brother, Victor, was editor of the Green Bay Press-Gazette and the Appleton Post-Crescent. Another brother, John, was honored by St. Norbert College when it named its football team's stadium after him. Minahan married Nellie Mulcahy.".
