It has a rotation period of 9.52 hours and an albedo of 0.05 to 0.06, based on the surveys carried out by IRAS, Akari, WISE and NEOWISE.It was named in honor of Willi Strobel (1909–1988), author of the 1963 edition of the Identifizierungsnachweis der Kleinen Planeten and staff member at Astronomisches Rechen-Institut since 1938.".
