- Q11999811 abstract "Seim Church (Norwegian: Seim kyrkje) is a parish church in Lindås municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Seim. The church is part of the Seim parish in the Nordhordland deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in 1878 by the architect Johannes Øvsthus. The church, which seats about 300 people, was consecrated on 16 July 1878. There has been a church in Seim since the Middle Ages. That church was probably a stave church which was replaced by a timber church in the 17th century. The second church was demolished after the present church was completed in 1878. The present church was built about 500 metres (1,600 ft) north of the old church site. Seim belonged to the parish of Hammer before 1749. In that year, it was separated from Hammer and transferred to Hosanger parish (as an exclave). In 1885, Seim was transferred from Hosanger to Alversund parish. Finally in 1964, it was transferred to Lindås parish.".
