In Umuasharam, there are four kindreds, which are Umu-Oparaji, Umu-Opara-ukuwoma, Umu-Oparaugu, and Umu-Oparanyaehie. There are also four kindreds in Umuolu, which are Duruakuehie, Uluiheagwu, Uluekezie, and Uluamuka. The people of Umu-asharam can marry Umuolu. Umuasharam people cannot marry within Umuasharam kindreds. The people of Umuolu cannot marry people belonging to Umuolu kindreds.Obeakpu is located at 5.69933°N 7.03100°W / 5.69933; -7.03100. The village of Amakor (now an autonomous community) is located to the east. Umele village is nearby in the west. The southern part of Obeakpu borders Ibele (now also an autonomous community). The Njaba River borders the village to the north.It is estimated to be the second-smallest village in Umuaka. The people perform a ceremonial dance at the end of each year, called \"Ekleke.\" Eze Ignatius Aputazie rules over the village. The people of Obeakpu are predominantly Catholic. Their church is called St. Charles Church.".
