It is owned and managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, and it is in the Chilterns Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site was owned in the late nineteenth century by Benjamin Disraeli, and the woodland is much older.
