He also wrote the theme song for The Phil Silvers Show. Strauss appeared briefly as an orchestra conductor in the film Amadeus.Strauss married actress Charlotte Rae on November 4, 1951, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1976. The couple had two sons, Larry and Andrew. Strauss' partner, Lionel Friedman, died in 2003.A longtime resident of Los Angeles, Strauss died in that city on February 14, 2011, of Parkinson's disease, at the age of 90.".
